President McKinley

THE tragic death of President McKinley removes a devoted friend to the building association movement.
Having been connected in one way or another with building associations in his early career at Canton, O., in his entire public life his friendly attitude was well known. As Governor of Ohio, shortly after the Corcoran Law was in operation, a determined effort was made by its enemies to force inimical legislation. The prompt and energetic support Mr. McKinley gave to the building associations of his native state will long be remembered.
Various building associations have held meetings and passed appropriate resolutions on the President’s death, condemning the atrocious act of the assassin, and resolving to unite in protesting against conspiracy against the Government of the United States and its rulers.
In President Roosevelt the building associations have a true, “time-tried and fire-tested” friend. His open and hearty support given to the State League of New York during the time he was Governor of the Empire State, assures all building associations membership of the Nation that should any emergency arise his cooperation can be depended upon.
