IT is with deep regret we learn, as we go to press with this number of T
A T C , of the death of President W M K . In his official life Mr. M K was faithful to the will of the people who elected him and as a statesman will live for all time in the history of his country. As a man the dead President was admired by the nation, particularly for his chivalric devotion to the loyal invalid wife now widowed by an infamous wretch; and the memory of his many virtues, both as President and private citizen, will abide in the hearts of his countrymen with that same warmth of sentiment associated with the names of L and G .
