Our country has been called upon within the past month to go through one of the saddest periods of its history, the death of our President. President McKinley, while in the act of shaking hands was shot down by a miserable assassin and the harrowing details from the President’s bedside stirred the country from one end to the other. This country has never had a President more beloved in private and public life and the entire world has sorrowed with us in our loss.
