[untitled]

Where Garfield slumbers and where Lincoln sleeps,
     Renowned in patriot story,
Another chieftan [sic] dreams his peaceful dream,
     His dream of deathless glory.

These shrined among the universal brave,
     Whose sacred dust we treasure,
The Lord of Hosts crowns him with martyr palm,
And fame in fadeless measure. [87][88]

His has become a rare, illustrious name,
To shine till time is hoary,
With Garfield’s and Lincoln’s unforgot,
     For this Republic’s glory.
