Insane Man Shot President
Two Bullets Took Effect—Believed to Be Serious. Removed to Hospital.
Buffalo, Sept. 6.—(Spl.)—3:50 p. m. President
McKinley was shot twice at the Pan-American grounds this afternoon by an insane
man. One bullet took effect in the shoulder and the other in th e [sic] breast.
He has been removed to Service Building Hospital
at the grounds.

Later—It is now said that one bullet struck the president in the cheek and the second shot in t he [sic] groin. Both wounds are serious.

Latest report is that the President cannot recover.
