Crowds Throng to See M’Kinley’s Picture in Floor

Additional People Attracted by Strange Phenomenon Congest the Temple of Music.

Greater crowds than ever thronged the Temple of Music yesterday, the additions being in large part caused by the article printed in yesterday morning’s Courier telling of the picture of McKinley discovered in the grain of the floor, close by the place where the late President was shot down by the assassin.
Nearly all day the building was thronged with people and at times it was all but impossible to get to the railing which surrounds the place where the President and the assassin stood when the great tragedy was enacted. Thousands went there in the course of the day to see the picture for themselves, and stood around the railing trying in various positions and lights to bring it out to the best advantage.
As printed in the paper yesterday the picture is not clear, but it may be seen distinctly in the right light. It cannot be seen in all lights and in the morning it is hard to catch the light right to get a view of it. The best time to see it is in the middle of the afternoon.
The McKinley face has been seen and recognized by enough people to leave no doubt of its existence, and whatever is the explanation of the phenomenon, it is proving an interesting one.
