Couldn’t Get Damages

Kansas Man Whose Neighbors Ducked Him for Expressing Sympathy
for Czolgosz Loses Out in Court.

Anthony, Kan., Feb. 8.—After the assassination of President McKinley last fall William Grubb, of this county, expressed sympathy for the assassin. Fifty citizens of the neighborhood took Grubb to a pond and “ducked” him several times, then warned him to leave. Grubb went away for a time but returned and brought suit for $20,000 against the men who treated him so roughly. At the first trial the jury disagreed, but in the district court here yesterday a verdict was returned in favor of Grubb’s persecutors.
