Exposition Briefs [excerpt]

     J. B. Parker, the big negro waiter in the Pan-American Plaza Restaurant, who was one of those to help throttle the President’s assassin, yesterday morning received a letter from the Rev. Robert D. Leonard of the Second Baptist Church of Shelbyville, Ind., thanking him in the name of the entire congregation for his part in the affair. Saturday Parker received a letter of similar portent from a Methodist congregation in Taylor, Tex. One envelope in yesterday morning’s mail made him an honorary member of the Industrial Business Union of Boston.
