LONDON, Saturday, September 21, 1901.

The greatly regretted death of Mr. McKinley has practically suspended business upon the Stock Exchange this week. On Saturday, though the formal closing of the House could not be effected, the members themselves agreed to disperse without doing any business. On Monday there was some influential buying of American securities; but the movement did not last. On Thursday the Stock Exchange was officially closed. To-day and Monday are Jewish holidays, when most of the Jewish members of the House will be absent. As a consequence of all this there has been exceedingly little doing.
