Chief Executive Received Two Bullets in His Stomach, and
  It Is Feared He May Die.
  
  WOULD-BE ASSASSIN MAKES HIS ESCAPE
     BUFFALO, N. Y., SEPT. 6.—AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE 
  THIS AFTERNOON TO ASSASSINATE PRESIDENT WILLIAM McKINLEY WHILE HE WAS ATTENDING 
  THE PAN-AMERICAN EXPOSITION.
       THE PRESIDENT WAS SHOT TWICE IN THE STOMACH. THE 
  MAN WHO FIRED THE BULLETS ESCAPED IN THE CROWD.
       IT IS FEARED THAT THE SHOOTING WILL PROVE FATAL.
