T
attempt upon the life of the President ought to awaken the American people to a realization of the dangers which confront them. For years Anarchists have been permitted to preach treason defiantly and openly threaten the lives of public men. It is time to attack these creatures as one would attack a nest of rattlesnakes. Let them be arrested wherever found—and put into some place where they will never again see G ’ sunlight or hear the voice of human being. To temporize with them, or to imprison them like ordinary criminals, will only gratify their desire for notoriety by handing down their names as martyrs. Wipe them out!
