Our Nation’s Prayer
Father, we ask in prayer
Wilt thou our ruler spare?
We bow in grief.
Lift from our land this stain,
Lift from a bed of pain,
Give us in strength again
Our nation’s Chief. Not for the warriors [sic] fall,
Not for death’s timely call
Thy people mourn.
Felled by the hand he’d take,
Felled throuh [sic] an anarch’s hate,
God of our chieftain’s fate
Temper our scorn.Hear our united prayer,
Grant us our chief to spare,
Thy love to know.
Under our flag above
May we most loyal prove
In one united move
Against the foe.By thine Almighty power
Send from our peaceful shore
All such as hate
Thee, and Thy laws to obey:
Far from our land to stay;
God bless America,
Thy people wait.
