Is Emma Goldman a Russian Spy?
Washington, Sept. 17.—There are
good reasons to believe that Emma Goldman, while posing as an anarchist, is
in reality a paid agent of the Russian government: in other words, a spy. A
well-known Russian of this city, who was for years in close touch with high
officials of the white czar, made the following statement in regard to this
matter to a correspondent today:
“Emma Goldman is a Russian spy and in the pay
of the third section of the police of that country. She was, and I believe is,
constantly in communication with the former and the present Russian consul-general
at New York, and her work for that government was very effective.
“The pay of the Russian government is her real
source of income.
“I am in a position to state that Goldman was
regularly giving information to the Russian consul-general.”
