In Memory of President McKinley
Our nation’s wrapt in grief
Because our noble chief
Is stricken down;
He served his country well
His noble deeds do tell,
And through our Union dwell
Sorrow and grief.Our leader’s fallen now,
In sorrow here we bow,
Our hearts cast down:
All honor to his name,
He reached the height of fame,
But God his soul did claim
And we submit.Almighty God, our King,
We now our praises bring
To Thee, our Lord;
May our lives useful be,
As was his, Lord, for Thee;
And may we dwell with Thee
For ever more.
