Baseball Players Stopped Their Game
DETROIT, September 7.—The baseball
players of the Philadelphia and Detroit teams, in the American League, showed
respect to President McKinley yesterday by mutually stopping their game at the
end of the sixth inning.
The play was just about to proceed in the seventh
inning when news of the attempted assassination came, and the game was immediately
called.
