Pertinent Points [excerpt]
Miss Georgia Remick was probably the only Jeffersonian present at the Pan-American exposition [sic] when the killing of President McKinley was attempted. Miss Remick was not in the building when the shooting occurred, but just outside. She saw the President enter, heard the shots, and saw all the commotion which resulted. It was an experience she will not soon forget.
