President M’Kinley Fatally Shot
Buffalo, N. Y., Sept. 6[.]—President McKinley
was shot twice at the Pan-American Exposition grounds this afternoon by an insane
man. One bullet took effect in the shoulder and the other in the breast. He
has been removed to the service building hospital at the grounds.
Buffalo, N. Y., Sept. 6.—It is now said that one
bullet struck the President in the chest, and the second in the groin. Both
wounds are serious.
Physicians after a consultation announce as their
opinion that the shots will prove fatal.
BUFFALO, Sept. 6.—President McKin ley [sic] and
party and a few invited guests and a military escort, numbering about one hundred
men, left here at 9 o’clock this morning on a special train for the Exposition
grounds.
