Anarchy Is Denounced as “Damnable” in Resolutions.
NEW YORK, Sept. 20.—Resolutions of sympathy with
Mrs. McKinley, of deep sorrow at the assassination of the late president, of
condemnation of anarchy were passed at the Associated Press annual meeting.
The resolution condemning anarchy follows:
That we call upon the states and the nation to
take prompt and emphatic legislative steps to deal adequately with the advocates
of the damnable doctrine which teaches that law and order must be overthrown
and which, the world over, openly adopts assassination as the instrument of
its operation. The anarchist has no place in this country and he should be made
to understand that he will be dealt with in the same manner as any other plague
or pestilence which threatens the public security.
