M’Kinley Memorial Plan to Be Ready in October
A Portion of the Funds Will Be Set Aside for the Care of the Monument.
New York, June 6.—The trustees of McKinley National
Memorial association announced today that the final plan for the monument to
President McKinley in Canton, Ohio, will be selected by October 1 and that the
erection of the monument, which is to contain the tomb of President and Mrs.
McKinley, and a room for memorial services, will be commenced immediately thereafter.
Of the sum already collected a portion is to be
reserved as a fund for the care and maintenance of the monument, so that there
will be no charge for admission to it, or to the extensive grounds in which
it will stand in the outskirts of Canton.
