President Takes a Little Beef Juice

REPUBLIC SPECIAL.
Buffalo, N. Y., Sept. 10.—President McKinley to-night, at twenty minutes past 11 o’clock, took a small amount of beef juice. This is the first nourishment that has been given to him since he was shot.
This announcement was made by the physicians at half past 11 o’clock, when they came out of the house after having been in consultation for more than two hours.
They made no attempt to conceal the jubilation which they felt over the fact that the President had normally entered the second stage of his convalescence.
