President M’Kinley Shot!
DASTARDLY ATTEMPT TO ASSASSINATE CHIEF EXECUTIVE
AT BUFFALO THIS P. M.
WASHINGTON, D. C., Sept. 6.—Great
excitement prevails here over a report that President McKinley has just been
shot. At the time this bulletin is sent out no details are obtainable. It is
understood, however, that the shot was fired by a would-be assassin. Further
particulars will be forthcoming quickly.
Later—McKinley has been in Buffalo attending the
exercises of presidential day. This afternoon he and Mrs. McKinley and their
party were to go to Niagara on a visit.
The dastardly attempt at murder was committed
while Mr. McKinley and party were on their way to the train.
Immense excitement followed the shooting.
