Draped Flag High in Air

Sent Up 1,500 Feet on Four Giant Kites at Bayonne, N. J.

A large American flag with a deep crępe border supported by a quartet of giant kites floated 1,500 feet above the tide level at Bayonne yesterday from the approximate time of the starting of the funeral in Canton until sunset, when a salute was fired as it was lowered.
The flag was raised by members of the Bayonne kite corps, who believed their emblem to have been seen at a greater altitude than any other in the country. A large crowd saw its ascension. At times it was visible from the Battery.
