A Little Girl’s Tribute

Her Confederate Flag, Bound with Crepe, Flung to the Breeze.

One of the first tokens of mourning displayed was by a ten year old girl of upper St. Charles avenue [sic] early this morning. During the Memphis reunion last May her father sent her a small Confederate flag as a souvenir, and this she has ever since proudly floated from the top of her play-tent on the lawn. As soon as she got up yesterday morning she took down the flag, and after draping it with a piece of black tulle hoisted it again at half-mast.
