     Two thousand members of the socialist party in Chicago at a meeting held on Monday, voted down a resolution of regret for the attempted assassination of President McKinley. They argued that as he was the representative of the capitalistic class, his safety or danger were matters of no concern to them. Chicago seems to have its share of aliens.
