Proclamation Concerning President McKinley
STATE OF NEW YORK
Executive Chamber
Albany, January 16, 1902
TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK:
His Excellency George K. Nash, the Governor of Ohio,
has suggested that Wednesday, January twenty-ninth, the birthday of the late
President McKinley, be fittingly observed by the people of the United States.
In this suggestion I concur and recommend that in the
schools of our State suitable exercises be held and that the flags be displayed
upon public and private buildings, thus honoring the character and services
of one whose death we so recently mourned.
