In the Nursing World [excerpt]
The following resolutions on the death of late [sic] President were introduced
by Miss Sylveen Nye, seconded by Mrs. Morley, and adopted by the association.
Whereas, our Father, in His infinite wisdom, has
taken from us unto Himself our beloved President, the President of the United
States of America, William McKinley, a President honored and respected by all
nations, a President honored and trusted by all his people, regardless of their
political faith, a man loved by and dear to all his acquaintances, a sincere,
true and loving husband; and
Whereas, the Buffalo Nurses’ Club realizes that
in the loss of William McKinley the nurses of the United States of America and
of the State of New York and city of Buffalo have lost a great, true, and good
friend, a friend who not only gave his official support, but one willing to
and who did use his own personal influence in behalf of the nurses as well as
every good cause; and
Whereas, the Buffalo Nurses’ Club feels a desire
to express its deep and sincere sorrow for the untimely death of William McKinley;
be it
Resolved that the Buffalo Nurses’ Club hereby
expresses its profound sorrow that our President, William McKinley, should be
called from earth to his resting place in Heaven at this time; and be it further
Resolved, That this resolution shall be placed
upon and become a part of the records of the Buffalo Nurses’ Club.
