Books for the Young [excerpt]

History made easy is the “American Boy’s Life of William McKinley” (Lee & Shepard), from the ready pen of Mr. Edward Stratemeyer. There is not much excitement in the life story of the murdered President, at least not after the Civil War closed, but there is much to instruct, and this the author has made use of, adapting the politics of the book to the intelligence of his readers, and making the most of the anecdotes which have gathered about President McKinley’s memory.
