Splendid Record of President’s Day
President’s Day at the Pan-American
Exposition proved its popularity and won the laurels of high attendance
and satisfactory success among the days thus far held at the Exposition.
It was a splendid success, viewed
from every standpoint, and one of which our citizens may well be
proud. From early dawn until the illumination was finally turned
off at night there was not a skip or a break in the harmony of the
day’s events, and delays or accidents of even the smallest kind
did not occur to mar the most complete enjoyment of the whole day.
The splendid attendance, breaking
all previous records, is especially interesting, as the tribute
of the people to the Chief Executive and the enthusiasm and cordiality
that greeted him everywhere added much to the charm of the day.
The events of yesterday were of a most intellectual order and devoid
of sensations, and the splendid success of the day is a just tribute
to the common sense of our people and the admiration which they
have for the finer things in life.
