Prayer for the President
Offered Up in the Catholic Churches Last Sunday.
“We pray Thee, O God of might, wisdom and justice, through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted and judgment decreed, to restore to health and strength the President of these United States that he may be able to continue his administration founded on righteousness, and be again eminently useful to Thy people, over whom he presides, by encouraging our respect for virtue and religion; by faithful execution of the laws of justice and mercy, and by restraining vice and immorality, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with Thee and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth. Amen.”
