Was Nearby When the President Was Shot
Woonsocket, Sept. 12.—Charles McKay, 97 High street [sic], is home from the Buffalo exposition and he has a chance to interest listeners for awhile, as he happened to be near the Temple of Music when the shooting of the president took place on Friday. He was about to enter the Temple of Music that afternoon to shake the president’s hand when the chief executive was carried past him on a stretcher. He also saw the assassin brought out by detectives.
