Our Polish-American Citizens

     The Polish people are an industrious and thrifty race. They have proved their qualities as immigrants and sustained their love of liberty so deeply bred in them at home through centuries of history. The Journal has for years, taken pleasure in printing facts which destroyed unjust reflections that it used to be the habit of certain politicians in Milwaukee to employ in every campaign. Here we know them and we have a growing confidence in them as a people. Our fellow citizens of Polish extraction must not be too sensitive over the thoughtless aspersions cast on their nationality by those who speak from emotion and under excitement. They cannot be held for the ancestry of the assassin; he was born and educated in this country, and it is not so far back when the ancestors of us all were foreigners. Crime is not confined to any one nation, race or people.
