Will Take a Census of Anarchists
New York, September 10.—Police Commissioner Murphy to-day issued a general order to all the commanding officers in the police department, directing them to take a census of all anarchists living in their districts, and to forward the list to headquarters, where the detective department is to conduct a general surveillance upon the anarchists of the city. The purpose of this, the commissioner says, is to make life so disagreeable for anarchists in New York city [sic] that they will move out of it.
