Chicago Surgeon’s Opinion
Dr. John B. Murphy Says Danger Lies in Wounds of Stomach Walls.
CHICAGO, Sept. 7.—When a description of the President’s
wounds was given to-day to Dr. John B. Murphy, whose reputation as a surgeon
is world-wide, he said:
“The present location of the bullet which entered
the President’s abdomen is of minor importance. The danger lies in the wounds
in the posterior walls of the stomach. It would be impossible at this distance
to tell the probable location of the bullet.”
