There is a good deal of idiotic talk going the rounds of the press today about “America for Americans.” This means America for the Indians, the true Americans. Every white man and every black man in the United States today is either a foreigner, the son of a foreigner, or the descendent of a foreigner. The true American is the Indian, a race of savage people who produced more bushwhackers and assassins to the acre than any other people on the face of the earth. No president of the United States has ever even been shot at by a man who was not born in the United States. We can go around right here in Prescott and pick out men whom we have heard preach the doctrine of anarchy, and whose ancestors were good people and who have lived and died in America for 100 years. From what foreigner did Cain get his instincts of an assassin? Assassins are where you find them, and our local criminal records will give ample evidence of that fact. Of course, we should kill off the American-bred assassins and bar out the foreign bred [sic] ones, if possible. But it should be remembered that no race, country or clime has an exclusive franchise from the devil on the production of assassins, and that the true American is the Indian, who as an assassin has a record that is hard to beat.
