The News Condensed [excerpt]

John M. Zahm, chief of the Fredonia fire department, has obtained a flagpole of historical value for the new volunteer fire station in that village. It is the flagpole that was used on the temple of music at the Pan-American exposition in Buffalo, and bought from the Chicago House Wrecking company [sic]. It is 40 feet long, and is made of Southern pine.
