E T S —Sir: It is at least gratifying to learn that the dastardly attempt upon our President’s life has awakened public sentiment to the danger which lurks in the foulness of yellow journalism. The belchings of one paper in this city, through its so-called editorial columns, have outlined during the last year a doctrine as pernicious and as mind-corrupting to the uneducated, as ever the reddest Red conceived in the depths of his ignorant infamy.N | Y , Sept.
