Colored Lecturer
J. B. Parker, the colored man, who captured Czolgoz after he shot President McKinley at Buffalo, lectured in the Union Baptist Church Thursday night. Parker was a waiter at the time, and was immediately behind the president when the fatal shot was fi[r]ed. He saw the bandaged hand held close to the assassin’s breast and saw the puff of smoke. He then sprang on the man and bore him to the ground. Parker went to New York from Georgia. He stands six-foot-six and weighs 225 pounds. He is an intelligent man. His lecture on “My Efforts to Save the Life of Pres. McKinley” was highly interesting and well delivered.
