Give Czolgosz His Own Medicine
Our noble and patriotic President lies dead by
the bullet of an assassin. The next thing to think of is the punishment of the
cowardly murderer who slew him under the guise of friendship. I am not an advocate
of mob law, but the assassin and his clique are; therefore why would it not
be a good idea to give him a taste of his own doctrines and turn him over to
the tender mercies of the mob. Withdraw from him the protecting arm of the law
that he so despises, and by the time they have done with him the object-lesson
he would present to his fellow-assassins would be of more avail in showing them
the necessity of law and order than all the hanging or electric chairs in the
country. Extreme measures should be taken to prevent a repetition of this horrible
crime and the remedy which I have suggested would be a step in the right direction.
WILLIAM E. DAVIES.
