The Mental Status of Czolgosz, the [A]ssassin of President McKinley, is a thoroughly well-written analysis by Dr. Walter Channing of Brookline, Mass., which appeared in the American Journal of Insanity. A careful reading of this presentation of the mental status of the murderer is very apt to shake any opinion regarding him as cynical, and is a good plea to doubt his sanity. The author studied the case of Guiteau thoroughly, and has shown his competence in this class of cases.
