University Notes [excerpt]
Theodore Roosevelt, ’80, took the oath of office as President of the United States at 3.30 Saturday afternoon, Sept. 14, at the house of Ansley Wilcox, in Buffalo. The oath was administered by Judge John R. Hazel, of the United States District Court. After taking the oath Pres. Roosevelt said to the members of the Cabinet and others assembled about him: “I wish to state that it shall be my aim to continue absolutely unbroken the policy of Pres. McKinley for the peace, the prosperity, and the honor of our beloved country.”
