A Factory Girl’s Strange Delusion

Is Fearful That She Will Be Electrocuted for the Murder of McKinley.

     York, Pa., October 28.—A singular affliction has befallen Miss Florence Cecil, of Walkersville, Md., who has been engaged in this city in one of the shirt factories in the lower part of the town.
     For the past few days she has had the hallucination that she is to be electrocuted in the place of Leon Czolgosz. She actually feels that she is the cause of President McKinley’s assassination, and at times she becomes very hysterical and secludes herself from the presence of her most intimate friends, believing that they will reveal her identity to the officers of the law, who will seize her and inflict some great punishment upon her, such as burning, electrocuting or hanging. She was removed to her home in Walkersville, Md., this afternoon. She expressed a desire to the people with whom she has been stopping that she wanted to be taken home to Maryland, so she could receive better protection from those who want to do her harm. The physicians here are of the opinion that her affliction will result fatally.
