Czolgosz Grand Jury Complimented
“I CONGRATULATE YOU ON THE WAY YOU HAVE DONE
YOUR DUTY,” SAID JUDGE EMERY.
The grand jury which found the indictment against
Leon F. Czolgosz, the Anarchist assassin, submitted its final report to Judge
Emery yesterday at noon, and was discharged.
The jury was complimented. “I congratulate you,
gentlemen, upon the way that you have performed the duties that have devolved
upon you,” said Judge Emery.
The report submitted yesterday was merely a resume
of what they found at the different county institutions. The jury made statements
regarding the Penitentiary, Almshouse and Jail to the effect that they were
conducted along sanitary lines and that the management deserved a vote of thanks
for the creditable way in which the institutions are conducted.
