Senator Hanna at M’Kinley’s Bedside

     Senator Mark A. Hanna was notified of President McKinley’s shooting within a few minutes after it occurred. He immediately wired back that he would come to Buffalo at once.
     At 11:10 o’clock Senator Hanna arrived. He was met at the station by Melville Hanna and Harry Hamlin. When the Senator stepped from the train he immediately asked: “What is the latest from the President’s bedside?”
     Mr. Hamlin handed him a copy of the latest bulletin that had been issued by Dr. Rixey, in which very cheerful information concerning the President was given. Mr. Hanna read it and exclaimed: “Good, good; that’s splendid news.”
     Senator Hanna was driven with all speed to Mr. Milburn’s home and was permitted to see the President, who was then conscious. Mr. McKinley greeted him with a cheery smile.
     Senator Hanna will remain in Buffalo for an indefinite period. He will not leave until the outcome of the President’s injuries is positively known.
