Man Killer [excerpt]

     The worst man killing horse in the state of Wyoming will be entered by the Cheyenne Lodge of Elks No. 660, in the wild horse races and the bucking and wild horse races at the next Frontier celebration, and it is hoped to capture the prize. The name of the horse is Czolgosz and it was donated to the Elks by John C. Coble, of Bosler.
     The horse is of a fiery temper and while not a hard bucker is the worst fighter in the state. A veritable man killer, there are no cowboys in Wyoming who would go into a corral with him without a good man on horseback to assist him in handling the brute. He was entered in the Denver races, but was never taken out of the corrals fortunately for some rider who would have had to deal with him. The name Czalgosz [sic] was conferred on the animal on account of his man killing qualities and his fiendish spirit.
