Says Anarchists Intend to Kill 100 Women for Revenge
Petoskey, Mich., Girl Claims Letters Containing Threat to Avenge Czolgosz’s Execution Have Been Received.
Detroit, Mich., Oct. 18.—A surprising story was told in Detroit today by a prominent young society woman of Petoskey, Mich., who is visiting friends here. She says that since the condemnation of Czolgosz the wives of three of the most prominent citizens of that place have received anonymous letters, threatening them with assassination. The letters state that the recipient is one of 100 women throughout the United States selected to be killed in retaliation for the execution of the assassin of President McKinley.
