full text
Leon Czolgosz (execution: witnesses); Leon Czolgosz (execution: public response).
Named persons
Leon Czolgosz.
A typesetting error in the newspaper gives this article the title “Congress Will Make an Investigation.” The correct title, given herein, is misplaced atop an article about the G. A. R. encampment in Cleveland (farther up in the same column).

Applications to Witness the Execution

Auburn, N. Y., Sept. 20.—In the belief that Czolgosz will be executed in Auburn prison more than a hundred persons have made applications to witness the electrocution of the assassin of the president. The first application was received one hour after the president’s death. Every mail adds to the number.
