The Different Ways of Punishment

     The assassination of President McKinley has brought to light more different modes of punishment that should be inflicted on Czolgosz, than could be printed in a big book. Hanging, electrocuting or burning are all too easy. Something special and henious [sic] should be inflicted on him is the opinion of all.
     But the most unique we have heard of comes from one of our bright young Americans not so many years old.
     He heard his father reading of the assassination and remarking on the punishment. Looking up and stopping from his play he asked “Papa, where did he shoot President McKinley?” “In the stomach, son,” was the answer his father gave him. “Well, do you know what they ought to do to him? They ought to stand him up and shoot him in the stomach. Then not let him have a doctor, and if he gets well, why shot [sic] him in the stomach again, and if he gets well then, keep shooting him in the stomach until he dies.”
