Our New President
For the first time in the history of the United States a President has taken the oath of office in the city of Buffalo. Theodore Roosevelt became the President at 3.43 o’clock last Saturday afternoon at the residence of Ansley Wilcox on Delaware Avenue, near North Street, in that city. Judge Hazel administered the oath, and the new President replied in feeling language. President Roosevelt says it shall be his aim to continue absolutely unbroken the policy of President McKinley for the peace, prosperity and honor of the country.
