Millerton [excerpt]
The Misses Ethel and Zella Skeels, who are making an extended visit in the east and have attended the Buffalo exposition, write home to their parents that they were in the Temple of Music when President McKinley was assassinated. They saw the president before he was shot and had shaken hands with him, and were near by [sic] and saw him borne from the building to the hospital. They also saw Czolgosz before he fired the deadly bullet and again as the officers hurried him away from the scene of his great crime. In fact, they were eye-witnesses to the great tragedy that has claimed the attention and sympathy of the whole world, and which will go down in history as sad facts, through ages and cycles of time, the assassination of President McKinley.
