Once Cigarmaker, Now Lawyer
Man Who Outlined Case Against Czolgosz Was Formerly a Fellow
Workman of Samuel Gompers.
From cigarmaking to the law is the
record of Assistant District Attorney Diedrick Haller, who outlined the case
against Leon Czolgosz, the assassin of President McKinley, last week.
Haller, together with Samuel Gompers, was a member
of New York Lodge 144, of the Cigarmakers Union, when he began the study of
law. He has made rapid progress since in the legal world.
